Physical Education (PE) is a compulsory subject for all students at Melrose High School. Students in Years 7 to 10 complete a dynamic program with a strong emphasis on skill development and fitness.
They are provided opportunities to participate in a range of individual and team sports, focusing on developing their fundamental skills of throwing and catching, kicking and striking, and implementing these skills into game situations.
Students are encouraged to demonstrate teamwork, good sportsmanship, and fair play in all areas covered. In physical education, assessment is a continuous process tailored to each student's progress. It involves ongoing evaluation of their skills, performance, and personal achievements.
All students are encouraged to participate in school carnivals held throughout the year. Students also can participate in zone carnivals and interschool sports competitions in various sports.
